FLORENCE - THE RENAISSANCE CITY.

This term was applied to Florence, Italy in the 15th century and is also applied to Florence, Alabama in the 21st century. Florence has earned the reputation of being a progressive, growing city while still maintaining its "Southern" hospitality and beauty. Florence is located on the banks of the beautiful Tennessee River in the northwest corner of Alabama.

We are pleased to recognize the HOBO Foundation, established by one of our own citizens. The foundation will allow more animals to find homes, and help educate people on how to care for animals. The HOBO foundation has been very generous to our shelter to help our four legged friends and help others become better owners.

The city of Florence Animal Control Department is one of the top programs in the country. From the adoption rates, the care that is given, as well as the professionalism that is shown by the entire staff. They are true ambassadors for Florence.
