In an effort to reduce the numbers of stray
and unwanted animals, our office offers a
reduced fee for spays and neuters
for those animals adopted through the animal
shelter. In many cases, this fee is reduced by as much as 50%, a great saving to the new pet owner.
By requiring the fee for the surgery to be paid at the time of the adoption at such a reduced rate, hopefully,
a near rate of 100% sterilization will be achieved. We understand this does not address the total problem, yet it is a great way to begin trying to reduce the problem of pet overpopulation. We need all pet owners to follow our example and have their pet altered. If you have a pet that is intact and you've thought about having a litter for the experience or because you think it will make your pet "better", please reconsider.
As a matter of fact, spaying before a heat cycle
will prevent or decrease the chances of certain diseases. If you have questions pertaining to our participation in the spay/neuter program or any veterinary questions, you may call us at (256) 767-0150.
